Hi Pinky - is there a problem at the moment? - having trouble accessing the site and the stat bars aren't appearing  ...ya know that being a stat junky I need my fix  |

their status blog sounds like they've been having a bad day....power outage in one of their three facilities, and because of the way they designed things(apparently rather poorly), that causes all three facilities networks to go down. then when the power kicked back in, one of their core routers decided to fail. |

yep, from the commentary on their blog, it sounds like some are still having trouble reaching their sites completely....guess it'll be a day before things settle down. this is apparently what caused the need for the outtage  |

Close enough that I hit the deck.....We had a 3 phase 13,800 volts transformer go to ground across two phases once...

- UPDATE 11:21 PST -
The router is up and healthy, and the majority of our network is back up and running. However, a few of our servers are having issues because their file servers are not talking to the rest of the network correctly. There is a link down from one part of the datacenter back to the routers and that is causing the file server issues. If you are on a server whose name is a beverage, this will effect you. We are working very hard to resolve this issue, and we apologize for the inconvenience. isn't supposed to be affecting us, but we still seem affected. |

they were creative with their server naming... i think dcstat is on a server called fig.  i liked my alma mater's way of naming servers....they were named after charlie brown characters. |
