Installed a newer version of BIONC ended up on the desktop. pasted it over the existing BOINC folder merged and replaced the files. seems to work fine when i go to home folder and double click boincmgr. but when i make a launcher, only boincmgr starts (wont start boinc)  Huh?

The script (run_client) that you copied over will have the wrong path in it.  Just open it with a test editor and correct it so it points to the right location for wherever you have your BOINC folder.

Also, you should be using the run_manager script, not trying to start it directly.
