I set my connection speed. I'm interested to know how many workers and buckets to make. My download is set to 1.5Mbps and upstream is set to 384Kbps.

I can think that than which a greater cannot be thought. Now, if that than which a greater cannot be thought existed only in the intellect, it would not be that than which a greater cannot be thought, since it can be thought to exist in reality which is greater. It follows, then, that that than which a greater cannot be thought exists in reality.

I run at least 150 workers, 25 open buckets, and 100 cached buckets....Also I dropped the wait time for uploading and put all cpu priorities to at least normal... But that is just me of course....

Well, I tried those settings.
Couldn't use the internet at the same time as MJ-12, however.
So, I came to the conclusion that Google is good enough, and I'd rather crunch for the cure to cancer, and etc.

At least you gave it a try...I usually just snooze the downloads for about an hour while I am online in South Florida since that is only a 1.5 meg line.....That way I can surf hassle free and it runs by itself the rest of the time....

In options 2,048 Downstream 384 upstream set sliders to 50%, 30 workers 10 buckets that on a 4 meg conection and still surfing.

It is a trial and error sort of thing.... It differs for each person....

It does not matter how many you crunch, just that you crunch......

Those mega big hardware sites have it too easy

And a huge turn-over also... Not too many are dedicated to crunching for the long haul....

The heftier power bills that go along with crunching a big farm 24/7 will test anyone's dedication.

Some of those listings can send Steph screaming into the night. More like disgusted with the way parts of the world have turned out.

Question for the MJ12 runners - do they allow you to change your username whenever you want or something? I ask because I see a strange inconsistency in my dcstat databases specifically having to do with one username... The inconsistency is causing part of the update procedure to completely fail...
