They (WCG) are really on my [spit]list now.....I have had 3 posts deleted tonight....And the sad part was that i wasn't even being a smartass like normal................ Angry

That why i spend very little time at project forums, every one I've seen is so uptight as soon as someone expresses an opinion that they disagree with  Yap yap yap Yap yap yap Yap yap yap.. Millions of opinions out there, if you don't want someone posting in your thread tell them not to post there and be done with it..

Come to think about it part of the reason this forum was started..

I've gone much the same way.  Project forums (IMHO) should be for tech support, maybe with a simple recruiting area.  Community should be elsewhere.

Just create a new account in the front page... then http://www.apsathome.org/team_display.php?teamid=135 to join... average WU takes 4 - 8 hours to complete... have not yet completed any as I just started them in between the leftover WCG stuff...

That's something I've been curious about as well.  While I believe they run substantially cooler than 360s ... can they take 100% 24/7 and survive?

I'm not sure if it ever made it to beta even.  I got the impression that it wasn't really a direction that a lot of people(well, those that live at folding forum) wanted to move in, as they tend to be pretty sensitive when it comes to talking about deadlines, and so running folding alongside another project via BOINC would have the potential to get work done less quickly.  My guess would be they never really got very far after making that conclusion.

From everything I've read here about folding, it's not on any todo list for me.  vaio used to crack me up with his posts about it.  Made him crazy with the aborts, low points, etc., yet he was obsessed with it.  Could never figure him out.

same as TLD said....only time i had issues was when the overclock was pushed....drop it a bit, and it's happy as can be, usually.  there have been one or two times when there were bad workunits out, but in general, they tend to be pretty stable.

Wouldn't call a bad batch of WUs a real problem as long as they fix them when they find a problem.. they have had a server go down a few times but what project doesn't.. rofl

Overclocking for folders 101

1) Overclock your rig to a point where it passes memtest and prime torture test.

2) Back off the FSB by 4   (Example 250-4=246)

3) Fold with no problems. (Even the picky 3038 jobs)

Just pisses me off to get locked off a forum before I've even managed to get in trouble. Takes the fun out of it. Eh  Guilty until proven innocent.

No problem stopping WCG - it stopped ME. Doh

Quando Omni Flunkus Moritati

Just added my 2 cents, I remember the CA wars, and was involved in them, and the duplicity at the time gave me a case of the ass. Thats Why I quit running WCG crap. I'll let what I have finish, and look at the new project.
