well, there was a beta and an rc thread...

Fresh install up and running.   Strange, I installed an "upgrade" copy, and it never asked to see the old version. Thinking  Drive is wiped clean of any remnants of the OEM install, so it wouldn't have found it in a hidden partition, and had the RC installed on here prior to installing the "upgrade".  Unless it thinks the RC is a legit version to upgrade from. lol

Well, now to see if the issues I was having in the RC are corrected now.  Lenovo had Windows 7 drivers posted already, so hopefully those issues have all been worked out in the new drivers. *unplugs laptop to see if it will finally warn me when the battery is about to die*

RC. + Upgrade?  Well it is MS. Wouldn't surprise me if all it did was look for an installation of Windows (Pick a version) lol

Could be a covert way for them to say "Thanks for testing"..  Huh?

Dunno, it is odd. lol  It activated just fine though.

Battery test = fail.  Strange, as I was checking it right as I was in the middle of posting this, and it said I had 1 hour and 16 minutes left.  Then it decided to take a nap. Doh  Plugged it in and woke it up, and says it only had 4% battery remaining....after 20 minutes. Eh  I wonder if Lenovo warranty covers battery, maybe they'll send me one that lasts more then 20 min. lol

20min?  Doh  Even my Dell runs longer than that watching DVD's.  rofl
Of course it as just a bit newer than your Lenovo.  Whistle

Always remember...  If you are running on the mains for extended periods or just leave the thing plugged in most of the time..
REMOVE the battery. Since they still haven't figured out how to tell the charging circuit how to turn itself off when the bett reaches full charge.

Well, the Centurion is ready.. All data moved for appropriate storage. Really wasn't that much to move since I didn't install many "Store stuff on drive c:" items. i  Now I'm just waiting on the UPS truck to stop by. Get the installation done and over with. Shouldn't take too long.

I know I know...but I like being able to unplug it at any random moment.  Doh   Well, dropped by a notebook forum, sounds like peeps are having better luck with the automatic system update tool thing. Thinking  Time to give it a try. lol

That's about how long both of mine last.  Of course they're both 5 years old and have had more than the 500 cycles lithium ion batteries are supposed to be good for.

Just under 2 years old here, and it's only a little 4 cell battery, so even when it was running at it's best, it only got around an hour to it. lol  Just called support to see if they'd send me a new one, but apparently the battery is only covered under the warranty for a year. Doh

Wouldn't be quite as bothered by the ~20 minute charge it holds if it would at least give me some warning that it's about to die, instead of immediately dropping to sleep mode... Doh

Does Lenovo have their own version of power management on your laptop?  My Toshiba does and it overrides the Windows app.

Maybe so, but everything I've ever read about lion laptop batteries rates them for no more than 500 and that's if they're used properly.

The odd thing is both times I sat there watching, both the Windows app as well as the Lenovo app thought there was quite a bit of juice left the second before it shut down...

don't need a list.. Just a way to save what I've told NoScript to block or allow.  Oh Well.

Other than Flash and Java, NoScript is the only "add-on" I use.

lol  First ever win7 "issue" thanks to winblows update...

Motherboard didn't like the Network driver "update" MS gave it. Nice of them to include the "roll-back" button. lol
