The ethernet drivers on the htpc...works perfectly straight from the default Windows 7 install.  Then Windows Update says it has an update to those drivers...hit update, and internet no worky no more. rofl  Had to pull the cd out to restore them to the old drivers and put the one on Windows Update on ignore. lol


Win7 reinstall in progress. lol

the belkin was the gift actually, had nothing but wep encryption... rofl    can't remember exactly, but my guess is the netgear was bought when i was on a shoestring college student budget, where a $10 difference to get something of better quality was too painful to spare. rofl

Actually, my D-link is labeled "draft" but if you recall the draft that's been used for the past year is what was finally made the standard.  Tongue

I've got Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on my main Core i7 machine and just built a Q9550 as a backup and put Win 7 Professional 64bit on it.  Both installs went without a hitch.  I checked device manager right after the Win 7 installs and no devices seemed to require better drivers.  Afterwards, i did install Nvidia's latest driver and installed some Asus drivers/utilities.

I really, really like Windows 7!

I really, really like Windows 7!

I'm liking it the more I use it - smaller footprint, and less resource utilization  Thumbs Up
