Know what kills a phone battery about as fast as 4-G?  Try having it drive a set of over the ear Bose headphones.

Who needs an iPod when they gots an Android phone with the pandora radio app on it and an unlimited data plan?  ROFL!

3G does an excellent job of keeping up with 128kbps music files.

Don't mind me.. Sprint up'd the rates for add on lines with their family plan. Sooo..  That means I gotta use this thing a LOT more to get my money's worth.  Devil

I've got no problem with my pay-as-you-go-$5-on-average-per-month phone. No problem at all.  Huh? Grin

5 lines on the account here. Truly no problem with the service. Reliable enough I don't need to shell out "extra" for a land line.

Only slightly cranky

Coming from an emergency responder, there's no substitute for a land line, even if it's painted red and only used to dial 000, 911 or whatever the emergency number is where you are.  Even before you answer they can tell where you are, so if you get cut off it doesn't matter, someone can be on the way.  On a cell phone ... not so much.  By the time they trace a cell's location you could be long gone.

E-911 (Cellular emergency) Is "supposed" to hook you through to the nearest 911 center. GPS turned on? Within a couple seconds, the operator is supposed to know pretty much where you are standing. Takes a bit longer to triangulate without the GPS.

There was a lot of concern here with emergency situations, cell phones and the 911 system. Lots of high dollar gear and teaching the system to pick up on the tower the call is hitting instead of the phone's number were put in place to make sure we got to the correct operator. So if I need to dial 911, I'll get the local folks here in WA instead of the fools down in LA which my phone number points to. "Supposed" to work like that wherever we are.

I haven't yet needed to use the system myself and am in no rush to do so.

Because of our privacy laws they can't access your GPS without a court order, plus it costs something like $400 for every trace, successful or not, thanks to our government allowing foreign companies into our previously quite seamless phone system and turning it into a disjointed mess.  At $400 a pop it doesn't take long to demolish the emergency system budget.  When it comes to locating you with the cell towers, when there's only one tower triangulation doesn't work very well.  Out where I am ... one telco, one tower and the telcos don't like to share data between them.

Ahhh..  One of the few privacy BS things they got right here.  You call 911, you are giving them permission to know where you are. LoL.
