Well? First bit of my new network gear showed up.

Nice shiny new wireless router. DLink N750. dual band wireless goodness.
This has a few pluses over the old one.

Can run both 2.4ghz and 5ghz Wireless-N simultaneously.
Has a gigabit Wan port which will come in handy when the new modem shows up tomorrow.
AND it has a USB port that I "should" be able to hook the old printer to and share it on the network.
For some stupid reason Win-XP and Win-7 running machines do not like to share a printer. At least not the old Brother.

HA! Now Comcast can come get this outdated POS modem of theirs and stick it, and the rental fee where the sun don't shine. Devil

They'll probably have some sort of exorbitantly priced modem return fee. Or a monthly non-rental charge.

 Doh Hmm

Well? New Modem has arrived. Fairly painless phone call to Comcast. Gave the dude the numbers, he plugged them into the system. Not too bad.  Connection has a bit more zip to it.  Not a heck of a lot. +5-7mb/s on the downstream (Puts it up to around 25mb/s).  they have a pretty good brake on the upstream, still tops out at 3.5.  lol

Oh. And the dude gonna swing by sometime tomorrow and pick up their junk. Save me some gas not having to drive 30miles to take it to them.
