Yup...  The Hard drive junkie has been got again. But I couldn't pass this one up due to how nice the first one of these I bought is working.

Western Digital My Passport Essential SE 1TB USB 3.0/USB 2.0 Black Portable Hard Drive

For those interested. You can get one of these for $89.99 till June 8th if'n you use the promo code EMCKDKH48 during checkout.
Massive amount of portable storage for minimal price.

Excellent deal!  Especially considering I paid $140 for the first one ( 6 months ago? ).

They also come in Silver, Blue and Red.  lol

$39?  Must be a seagate branded drive.  I've never had one of their drives last much longer than the 1yr warranty.

I buy Western Digital drives for a few reasons.  If they run more than a month (Every maker can have some questionables squeak past testing)  they'll run at least 4 years in most cases. I've only had one WD drive die in under 4 years of use. Better performance than the Seagate offerings.

I've got all the internal drives I can plug in.  500gb system drive and 3.75TB worth for storing the movie collection.

These little external drives are quite nice. Good performance for a USB connected device, No power brick to cart around. And I REALLY need to have something for a backup of the collection..  Eventually I'll wind up with 4 or 5 of these little bastids. Lot easier to pack around than the big HDDs should I decide to take a road trip and want to take some entertainment with me. I can stash a LOT of these little passport drives in the notebook's bag.  Trying to take the other drives involves more power bricks and rather large cases to mount them in.
