Posting this up as an announcement because I know many of us are greatly interested in cancer work, wherever it may be. I am surprised nobody at WCG forums commented on it before now. "We have a cancer project in the review process and we have targeted it for launch in the first quarter of 2006.
As far as doing more cancer projects... We have done a lot of work to ensure that the research community is aware of World Community Grid, and continue to do so. We are even spending time with a few researchers to teach them how to design research to run on the grid. But we can’t drag them in the door. We have to wait until researchers submit proposals from https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/projects_showcase/submit_a_proposal.html
If you are reading and responding in this forum, and have a personal interest in helping to eradicate a certain disease, then you can help out.
We would like to invite anyone reading this thread, whether you have been affected by some kind of heinous disease or not, to take it upon yourself to contact one or more research organization that is doing research on that disease. In your message to them, point them to the World Community Grid submit-a-proposal page, and encourage them to take advantage of World Community Grid by submitting a proposal.
Why should a research organization pay tons of money for hardware/software when they can run on World Community Grid? All of our PCs combined now make World Community Grid one of the largest super computers in the world. So we should be able to take on any kind of research."

Do you know if the Rosetta Part 2 is going to be using the improved Rosetta client we are creating over at [email protected] ? I'm pretty sure I saw a post by David Baker that stated that was the case. I think they already have an improved client ready to go.

Boink has built in stuff to hold extra jobs to work while off-line. Set at the server end. Works pretty good from what I've heard.
