Do you not use UDMon JC?  Have you thought about using the BOINC agent?

VAIO GRX616, I dodn't see a need with just one PC. Also, what;s good about BOINC? Do you use it?

BOINC I find easier - caches WU's by itself without the need for other s/ware.  I can switch projects easily.  Points are calculated using the processor only, which I find fairer as this is the main thing doing the work - rather than RAM, disk space or even connection speed  Rolleyes

Overall, I'm happy to recommend BOINC - superior to the UD s/ware IMHO.

VAIO GRX616, I may try that. Also, There must be a million threads here and at WCG about LINUX and Boinc.

Does that work well? I know folks that I can recruit if that is true.  Thinking

I've used linux & boinc.  I haven't really had any problems but a few have.  Maybe get a few to give it a try and if they do well harass the rest.  MrGreen

Can't comment on BOINC under Linux - all my machines are Win 2k or XP.  I have had no problems at all - except with [email protected] and that seems to be a temporary blip with that particular project.

Only slightly cranky

I run BOINC under Linux, no problems.  Well, once I worked out to run the client via it's run script rather than just leaving the manager running all the time.

This was an announced pre-outage by WCG yesterday. Just the website is down for whatever reason. The work units will not be effected.  Wink
