moving it back a few weeks i believe (unsure on timescale) due to some technical reason, or that they didn't have enough staff members to complete the extras in the 8 hours

at a guess

anyways, it has been postponed

Upon review, this "Boinc" agent for LINUX has received poor reviews. IBM has somewhat admitted to this issue.

Growing pains, I think. I also posted a thread (that I can no longer find) about the uber large work units after *so* many Teams joined recently.

One Member replied that is was true (all the new Teams) has caused all these "uber large work units", and perhaps the new "longer work units" has helped in the "traffic area".  Thinking

I'm still trying to find my thread about the longer work units. This was a direct question to IBM. No answers!

I had asked (respectfully) if they needed more servers or better database tuning (triggers and optimization concerning database tables).

This is something I do know about.

Not one answer from the IBM folks.  Shock

Oh yes, as you can tell, I *am* chilling out.  MrGreen  Afro

jc...curious....what are you defining as "uber large work units"?  as in, how long?  similar to the 50+ hour ones grid is feeding out that are supposed to be exactly the same thing as wcg?  i wouldn't guess it's trouble, but perhaps they just decided to break the units up differently in their newest batch...just a guess, though. i recall seeing your post at wcg, but it was in the middle of another thread...perhaps better to start a fresh thread there if you really think it an issue....i would guess it's just broken up differently, though...

I've had 2 or 3 Uber Large WU's, the most Uber so far was 110 hrs , next in line was 60 and then a 50. So they seem to be going down. For the record these were HPF, Second 2 on Dual Win2003, and the Uber unit on a Dual running Suse 10.
I haven't seen any this Uber for about a week.

I haven't seen any of those really long ones like you guys have had yet in windows.  The ones in linux are very short.  A few hours tops.  MrGreen

More like HPF at Hades... The WU always ran, and never locked up, like a bad WU, it just ran forever. But on the upside I set a new personal record for points that day, and helped JC...... so it goes.....
